Our CESARO™ brand takes its name from a small town in Sicily, the " Island in the Sun." It was home to the parents, grandparents, and great grandparents of the founders of CESARO™ LLC and thus the reason for selecting the name.

The small village of Cesaro, in the province of Messina, is overshadowed by Mount Etna. A tremendous view of the worldwide known volcano is not far away in the Cristo sul Monte district. The road to get there twists and turns up to the narrow pass of Portella femmina Monta e della Miraglis, through mountain scenery and an extensive beech forest. At the top of the pass, a trail leads to the summit of Monte Soro.the tallest peak in the Nebrodi mountain chain.

This village of some 3,000 inhabitants rises inland on a mountainous spot that is nearly 3,800 feet above sea level. It is located on the watershed between the Cuto and Traoina Rivers. An artificial lake, Biviere di Cesaro, is nearby which forms a wet area known throughout Sicily for its naturalistic value. The town's economy is based on small cottage industries and on agriculture. The main cultivations are olives, citrus fruits, legumes, and grapes.
